The documentary film #SeAcabó: Diario de las campeonas arrives on Netflix on November 1

The Spanish women's national football team players come together for the first time to discuss the scandal that forever changed this sport.
Madrid, October 2, 2024 – Netflix has announced the global release of #SeAcabó: Diario de las campeonas, a new documentary produced by You First Originals, set to launch worldwide on November 1.
This documentary features, for the first time, the personal statements of the players who not only won the world’s most prestigious football championship but also sparked a global turning point in women’s sports. Key figures such as Jenni Hermoso, Alexia Putellas, Irene Paredes, Aitana Bonmatí, Olga Carmona, Teresa Abelleira, Ivana Andrés, Laia Codina, Sandra Paños, and Lola Gallardo reveal untold details and reflect on the social movement that went viral following Spain's victory in the 2023 Women’s World Cup. #SeAcabó: Diario de las campeonas is also a story of unity and friendship, a reflection on the true meaning of teamwork, and the importance of prioritizing collective goals over personal ones.
Through an emotional journey that begins in 2022, the documentary explores the extraordinary path the players took to win the hardest championship to achieve and lay the foundations for a new generation of football. It is a testament to the struggles, sacrifices, and efforts behind this incredible feat and a tribute to the women revolutionizing the sport both on and off the field.
Directed by Joanna Pardos, the project explains, “The players narrated what they experienced over the last year from a place where they’ve never spoken about it before. For many, it’s the first time they’ve shared their story. It’s a privilege to have such personal testimonies about a milestone that has forever changed our country’s sports and social history.”
The executive co-producers, Javier Martínez and Luis Miguel Calvo, add, “It’s the story of how a group of exceptional women not only transformed the sport they love but also challenged and changed social structures, inspiring future generations to fight for equality and recognition. It’s a chronicle of resistance, passion, and triumph in the face of adversity, marking a milestone in the fight for equality in sport and society.”
